Implementing Form Based Authentication (FBA) in Microsoft Exchange for Outlook Web Access (OWA) is a simple process that provides security benefits such as session expiration and secure logouts. It involves configuring OWA with SSL, enabling FBA on the HTTP Virtual Server in Exchange System Manager, and directing clients to access the secure site using HTTPS. No additional client-side configuration is needed.
