Archive: a 2009 virtualisation presentation

This is a short archival record of a 2009 open-source presentation. The original post included event, venue, audience, and organisational details that I cannot fully verify from the retained source material, so I have not repeated them here.

I presented a practical introduction to host-based virtualisation using VirtualBox. A Linux kernel issue prevented the planned part of the demonstration from running as expected, so I used VMware ESXi to show the underlying virtual-machine concepts.

That experience remains useful as a teaching reminder. A demonstration needs a fallback that still lets the audience inspect the idea when a dependency fails. The original post is retained as a record of the presentation period, not as evidence of a current event, affiliation, or technical recommendation.
